I wear a lot of scarves, so can I still wear pearls?

Yes, of course!
Firstly and at the risk of splitting hairs, there are many pearls that aren’t going to be obscured by your scarf. Assuming we’re talking here of neck as opposed to headscarves, things such as earrings, bracelets and rings, will all still be perfectly visible.
You will certainly need to coordinate colour schemes and so on but that should be business-as-usual in terms of your wardrobe management.
If we’re speaking of necklaces, then things are a little different. I suppose some would argue that what’s the point of putting your best string of pearls on if you then intend to hide them under a scarf for most of the time you’ll be wearing them.
It’s a fair question!
However, you don’t have to wear your pearls and scarf on a “hide me” basis. This is where it gets a little tricky because ideally pictures and diagrams are required!
If you wished, you could knot your scarf in a large square shape and drape your pearls over the top. The results are delightful and perhaps reminiscent of that classic East Coast USA look seem on so many women in the films of the 1950s and 60s.
Alternatively, if your pearls are in a long enough string, you could wear them dressed vertically down over the top of a scarf that mimicked their shape. This look has some echoes in the styles of the 1920s.
The bottom line is – why not? Ultimately you can experiment with all sorts of combinations and looks but preferably, of course, without hiding those beautiful pearls from plain sight.
Do be a little careful though. If you’re trying to remove your scarf, make sure you don’t accidentally grab and pull your string of pearls apart at the same time. It might sound comical and unlikely – but it really can happen!
